Into the Calm — A Seminar for Those Struggling with Anxiety, Ashland, Ohio, October 23–24

A TWO-DAY CHRIST-CENTERED SEMINAR

You don't need one more person telling you not to worry.

You need a compassionate way to understand what anxiety is doing in your mind, body, and spirit—and practical ways to meet God there and begin turning toward peace.

October 23–24, 2026 8:00 AM–5:00 PM Ashland Seminary • Ashland, Ohio

Into the Calm weaves together biblical truth, Christian spiritual formation, formational care, and insights from behavioral science and neurobiology. You'll learn, experience, practice, and leave with tools you can keep using long after the weekend is over.

For those who struggle with anxiety, those who love them, and those who care for them.
A different kind of anxiety seminar

What if the goal isn't to fight anxiety harder?

Anxiety can feel as if it has taken over the whole person. Into the Calm creates space to understand the journey without shame, notice what can intensify it, practice what can help settle it, and encounter the presence of Jesus in the middle of it—not only after it goes away.

✦

Experience

Make room for the presence of the Lord through worship, ministry, reflection, and experiential spiritual practices.

Understand

Learn more about anxiety, present-moment awareness, the nervous system, attachment, identity, and the patterns that can keep us stuck.

↗

Practice

Try concrete skills for regulation, connection, embodied awareness, values-based living, and a daily movement toward peace.

What you'll take away

More than information. A way to practice peace.

Every main session is built around three aims: encounter God, understand more of the anxiety journey, and practice a present-moment skill you can take home. The weekend moves from understanding what is happening to developing a practical strategy for what comes next.

Understand your nervous system

Explore a polyvagal lens for why the body can move into fight, flight, or shutdown—and how cues of safety, awareness, and connection can help you move toward regulation.

Notice without condemning

Learn present-moment awareness and curiosity practices that help you relate differently to anxious thoughts, emotions, and body sensations.

Reconnect identity and values

Explore attachment, identity, and a values-driven life so anxiety does not get the final word about what matters or how you live.

Engage the body

Practice embodied awareness and gentle ways of listening to what your body may be communicating rather than treating it as the enemy.

Experience co-regulation

Discover why safe, attuned connection matters—and how the presence of trusted others can soften the sense of facing anxiety alone.

Build a daily strategy

Leave with practical investments and spiritual exercises designed to support peace, well-being, connection, and ongoing growth.
